The Hawaianos, one of the most famous boys band of the Carioca funk scene, rehearse on a rooftop in the favela Cidade de Deus (City of God). Their success is due to their choreographic creativity : They transform the movements of TV comics heroes into dance steps. Every weekend, they go on the roads of Rio de Janeiro State to perform in about ten bailes, for which they get paid between 200 and 2000 euros each show. Cidade de Deus, Rio de Janeiro, 2007.
